Help with signing in

This web site has a members-only section for the use of COTSS-IP members. In order to access the members only section you will need to sign in, using the form on the left, below the site navigation links. You need to provide your first name, last name and password, then click the Sign In... button.

If you have signed in sucessfuly, you will notice that the form that you used to sign in has been replaced by a message, that tells you that you are signed in, and a button that you can use to sign out again.

If your attempt to sign in is not successful, a message will appear in red above the sign in form, telling you that your name and password were not recognised. Don't panic, the rest of this page provides trouble-shooting advice.

A form is available at the bottom of this page to request assistance via e-mail, in case you are totally stuck.

I do not have / do not know my password

The first time you sign in, you should use your postcode as your password. This postcode needs to be the same as the postcode in the COTSS-IP membership database - usually the postcode you provided on your membership form.

When you have signed in using your postcode, you will be asked to choose a new password to use in future.

I have forgotten my password

Please use the form below to recieve a new password via email

I am sure I am entering my details correctly, but I keep getting told that I am not recognised

It is possible that there is a typographic error in the COTSS-IP membership database. If this is the first time you have signed in, and your postcode may differ from that in the COTSS-IP membership database, please try using alternate postcodes. Otherwise, please use the form below to get assitance via email.

I can sign in, but every time I visit a different page, I get 'un-signed in'

The most probable reason for this is that your browser will not accept cookies.

When you sign in, our web server tries to give your computer a cookie (a small nugget of information), which your computer is supposed to give back to our web server each time you visit a different page of the website. This cookie allows our web server to remember who you are, and that you have signed in.

Usually this all happens automatically, but it is possible to configure your web browser to disable cookies. If your computer will not accept the cookie, then our web server will not be able to remember who you are, and that you have signed in. If this is the case, you will need to re-enable cookies in order to access the members area.
