Lorna Scott's profile

Lorna Scott 1989 - Royal College of Occupational Therapy DipCot

I have 34 years of clinical experience working as a qualified Occupational Therapist. Originally working in hospitals to a specialist level in elderly medicine, rheumatology and trauma & orthopaedics I changed direction half way through my career. I followed as cutting edge rehabilitation moved into community and became a community specialist in stroke & elderly rehabilitation. This has provided enhanced training in vocational rehabilitation particularly in relation to stroke, cognition & fatigue. I have been able to maintain my interest in conditions related to ageing and have further developed my skills in the assessment and management of dementias. I continue to work part-time for the NHS and have now also worked independently for over 15 years. In this time I have worked with: insurance companies completing specialist functional independent living assessments, recommending equipment or therapy solutions, outlining streamlined care plans and report writing; with case managers providing occupational therapy assessment and treatment services, and supporting research with expert opinion. I am based in Sheffield and complete face to face visits around South, East & West Yorkshire and the Midlands and I am happy to offer remote contact where appropriate. I am happy to discuss any concern you may have and if I am not able to help directly I may be able to signpost elsewhere. Please feel free to contact me on mobile: 07932 637856 or using email: [email protected]
